Best Rooftop Bars In Panama

There’s been a number of rooftop bars opening over the past few years and Panama City’s tropical climate creates the perfect environment for them. Check out these places and enjoy the spectacular views, a refreshing cocktail, and beautiful people.

Selina

Selina is where you’ll find the cool kids of Panama City sipping on cocktails and craft beer. The decor is tropical chic, utilizing lots of plants and vibrant murals splashed along the walls. They organize lots of weekly events like live salsa music, electronic music DJs, acoustic concerts, and more – so you can always count on something going on. You can also stay at Selina if you want to always be in the middle of the action.

Vista Corona

The newly opened Vista Corona rooftop offers a fabulous place to watch the sunset and enjoy a drink. And if you are there during sunset (around 6 pm) they give all attendees a Coronita beer for a group cheers.

El Faro

El Faro has one of the best views and sits on the border of Casco Viejo and the skyscrapers of Panama City view a gorgeous view of both. They are famous for their seafood dishes, mojitos, and other rum-based drinks.

The W Panama is located in the heart of Panama City’s shiny skyscrapers and offers a gorgeous view from the pool terrace. It’s technically not a rooftop but it’s high up enough and makes a great spot to socialize with a cocktail.

Capital Bistro

As you enter the historic Casco Viejo district, Capital Bistro is probably the first rooftop you’ll notice. It’s perched right at the entrance with a beautiful view of the ocean and skyline.

Casa Casco

Casa Casco features three different restaurants, a nightclub, and a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the historic district. My advice is to head up here at 6 pm for a spectacular view of the sunset.

Tantalo

Tantalo was the first rooftop bar in Casco Viejo and it’s still one of the best. The hipster stringed lights and view of the modern Panama City skyline is the perfect ambiance to sip on a passion fruit mojito. There’s also something going on almost every night of the week like live art on Tuesday, latin music on Wednesday, ladies night on Thursday, and a mix of music on the weekend. Plus they have an amazing happy hour on weekdays with half price drinks before 7 pm.

Panaviera

The Panaviera is located on the 66th floor of the Ocean Sun Casino, part of the JW Marriott Hotel and has the best view of a city sunset. As you walk in, the doors open to an over-the-top infinity pool flowing over the cityscape. The rooftop opens at 5 pm and I recommend arriving at that time to catch the last glimpse of the sun going down over the hills.

Lazotea

Lazotea is located on the rooftop of Hotel Casa Panama and boasts great ocean and city views. It’s an ideal place to have dinner & drinks before heading out to one of the more rowdy places in Casco Viejo to party.

AC Hotel

The AC Hotel is also located in the city center and offers a sweeping view with an incredible infinity pool. The cocktail bar on the roof is only opened on the weekend but you can buy a drink on the lobby level any time and bring it up.

Numen

One of the highlights at La Concordia Hotel can be found at the Numen Rooftop where a striking 360º view of Panama City’s skyline offers a priceless way to admire the city’s iconic landmarks. This gastro lounge offers a wide variety of cocktails and fusion tapas, hookahs, and live music to enchant your night out in Casco Viejo.

Compadre Barber’s Club

Compadre is a five-floor building in Casco Viejo with a different ambiance on each floor. The first floor houses a super hip barbershop and as you climb the stairs you’ll find a tattoo studio, vintage museum, bar, and of course – the rooftop.
