On the same day that President-elect José Raúl Mulino announced the name of 14 of the ministers with whom he will work from July 1, it was announced that the bench of the party Realizing Metas (RM) chose Luis Eduardo Camacho as its candidate to preside over the National Assembly, reports La Prensa.
The announcement was made by former President Ricardo Martinelli, from the Nicaraguan embassy, where he was held after his sentence to more than 10 years in prison for the New Business case. The former president shared the details of the meeting on his social networks.
On May 5, 14 MPs were elected from RM. But, according to the former president of the Republic, they were joined by two more deputies: Isaac Mosquera, elected by the 5-1 circuit (Darién), the Liberal Nationalist Republican Movement (Molirena) and Nelson Jackson, of the circuit 3-2 (Colonum), who in the past elections ran with multiple flags, including that of the Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD) and that of RM.
Mosquera was investigated and arrested for the alleged commission of crimes of drug trafficking and money laundering.
The meeting also defined those who will lead the bench. Alaín Cedeño, deputy for the 8-10 circuit, will be the head of the bench in the Assembly. The deputy elected chief is Yuzaida Marín, deputy of the 13-4 circuit (La Chorrera).
