The police and rescue authorities have been officially issuing an information about monitoring of rain and storms throughout Panamanian territory throughout the weekend.
According to the IMHPA’s prognosis, an increased probability of rising to a high level with wind activity, especially on Sunday 9 and Monday 10 August, is estimated.
It says that the Caribbean will experience clouded sky with continuous rain from Bocas del Toro to the Coast Below Colón as well as isolated rainfall at Guna Yala and the Gulf of Panama.
A partially clouded sky with temporary stability lapses are expected for the Pacific.
The Emergency Operations Centre(COE) issued a preliminary report after heavy rain and high wind in the last few hours, with an initia balance of five major incidents distributed as follows:
Panama West: Falling from a tree onto the electrical tiling at Brisas del Chumical (Arraijan), affecting power service.
Structural damage: A tree collapsed onto a housing in the sector of La Industrial, recordimiento de Barrio Colón.
The event required the humanitarian assistance of the Panamanian Red Cross.
Panama City: Report of a tree falling into the sector of John Paul II, at Curundú’s correction.
The authorities reiterate to citizens strict public security measures to safeguard lives and care with minor and older children.
To avoid completely crossing of rivers, rivers or increased breakages.
Drive with extreme care due to lack of adhesion on wet streets and reduced visibility.
